I have been inspired by seeing this beautiful shawl. I went to the store on saturday bought the pattern and sea mist mist alpaca. This is my first time knitting lace. I am knitting the Swallowtail Shawl for a friend's Arkansas wedding in November... I have finished Row 7 of the Lily of the Valley Border, and think that it might end up really small. I am knitting it in 2 ply laceweight yarn on size 4 needles.
I am too far along to go back and do Pepperknit's recommendation for how to increase the Swallowtail. Does anyone know how I could increase the Swallowtail by doing additional repeats of the Lily of the Valley border?

This has already been ripped out three times and I'm rapidly becoming a knotted nitwit.
I am at the end of row one of the 3rd budding lace repeat and find that I only have 7 stitches left. I started the row with 57 stitches. I have been placing markers after each repeat but still ended up short. Are all rows supposed to end up exact?

Please can I join your group. I love knitting ,but I am getting stuck every time at the budding lace. I get to the 39 sts ok and the way I am reading the repeats for the next row I'm left with 45 instead of 43. I've ripped it out 9 times and getting so frustrated by this.
