Nupps?

Everyone who has finished a shawl is a true artist!! They are all beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!
I am trying to do the nupps on the first chart. I always come out with the wrong count. I've been doing the cheater method.
Could someone just tell me the sequence of the abbreviated 'real'ones? I don't understand the symbol.
Even with a broken arm I can knit for awhile, but I'm on the verge of packing all mt stuff away upstairs. Can someone help me? thanks so much.... Star

is it the k1,yo,k1,yo,k1 into the same stitch part that you don't understand? i don't have my magazine right in front of me at the moment, but i'm thinking that's the stitch to make the nupp.

What you do with NUPPs is in the same stitch you would k1, yo, k1, yo, k1. Then on the WS, you would p5tog to create the little nub.

Hope this helps.
