I'm just starting Swallowtail and am looking for some advice on needle size. My yarn is a silk-wool from Rovings, a fingering weight of 823 yds to 5.5 oz. What size needle do you think would work best for this pattern and yarn?
Thanks.

Maybe 4mm? Since 3.5 is used for laceweight. If you don't want it to be too 'holey' maybe you can stick with 3.5mm? =)

I used JaggerSpun Zephyr for my first Swallowtail and a 4mm circ. I inadvertently started the second one on a 4.5mm. I liked the gauge much better but since this need to be more of head scarf I went back to the 4mm.

I used fingering weight yarn and used a size 6 US needle.
